Celebrating 100 years

One hundred years ago our Congregation purchased the property on the corner of Plum and First Street for $7,000 for the purpose of building a synagogue. Beginning with a fund of $6,000, the forty members of the congregation raised $23,000 among themselves to begin construction. That is worth over $380,000 in today’s dollars.

We owe it to this important institution, what it has meant and what it will continue to mean for generations to come, to honor their vision and their commitment.

During this special anniversary of the purchase of the property where our Synagogue stands today, we need to make the same commitment to keep their vision alive. Please make a special donation to the Annual Fund this year. Every member should make some contribution; this congregation is the responsibility of all of us.

We have a dynamic number of new members engaged in a level of participation that reaffirms the founders’ vi-sion. Be a part of that vision as generously as you can.
