Dear CSI Congregants,
Welcome to October 2024, with High Holy Day events in almost every week! This bulletin contains the schedule for all services, meals and celebrations. Be sure to check it carefully.
Furthermore, for security purposes, if you are bringing family members or guests, please let Stephanie know their names immediately. We will be checking names at the Plum Street entrance to the synagogue; you will not be able to enter the building from First Street, so please bear that in mind when arriving.
CSI’s Annual Fund drive is underway. This is our largest fund-raiser of the year. We rely on funds raised at this time to support our many activities, including services, Shabbat dinners, guest speakers, holiday meals, and Kiddush lunches each week. We urgently need donations to help support the shul, so please send your check to Stephanie in our office, or call her to use other means of donating. You can reach Stephanie at 478-745-4571.
On Monday, October 7th, from 7:30 to 8:30 pm, Temple Beth Israel will hold a candlelight vigil for all those who perished during the Hamas attack on Israel a year ago, and for all those still held as hostages from that brutal attack. All CSI congregants are invited to attend. There will be prayers and songs for healing and peace. Rabbi Rubinstein will join Rabbi Bahar in leading the service.
Please remember to let me know if you would like to volunteer for any of our committees. We are still seeking members and a Chair for our Social Action committee.
Finally, as we head into the month of holidays and celebrations, I want to say thank you to everyone who volunteers at CSI, whether it be serving on the Board of Governors, helping Shelley in our kitchen, or assisting the rabbi with the running of services. I wish all these people and everyone else at CSI a sweet Rosh Hashanah, an easy fast on Yom Kippur, and a festive Sukkot and Simchat Torah. May this be a year of good health, prosperity and happiness for all.
L’Shanah Tova,
Jan
